The Intrepid Evangelist

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto
salvation to everyone who believes -Romans 1:16a

Thank you!

If you are visiting this page it is because you recieved one of the cards after spending some time speaking with someone.

Let me first say thank you!  As parents of 5 children, my wife and I both know how busy life gets so I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to not only talk with us but visit this portion of the site.  That you're willing to do this shows you have some concern about what you have heard or seen.

I once heard a very interesting statistic:  10 out of 10 people die.  150,000 people will die before the end of the day.  Hundreds will pass from this earth before you close this page.  None of us know when we will be a part of that day's number.  Think of it, no one gets up in the morning expecting that today would be their last.  Most people give little thought to death, especially those who are younger.  Maybe you're one of those people who really likes to work out.  I like the gym myself and enjoy running each week.  But even after all that time spent in the gym trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle you are still inching closer and closer to your last breath.

Well, maybe you just like to have fun in life.  You're not much of a health person and you just like to enjoy the pleasure of life.  But how long does that fun really last?  And how much is that going to matter when you are dead?  You're right...it won't!

So what really matters most?  Family, friends, money, pleasure, fame?

What really matters is where you will spend eternity!  Here's is a way for you to know for sure where you will go when you die.

How many lies have you told in your life?  How about just in the past week?  5...5,000?  If you only told one lie that makes you a liar.

Have you ever used God's name as a curse word.  Oh my ____ or ____ da**it, or maybe just used the name of Jesus (but not when you speaking of Him in a good manner).  That is called blasphemy and it's very serious.  The Bible says "God will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain".  If you have done this that makes you a blasphemer.

Have you ever murdered anyone?  No?  That's good, but in Matthew 5:21-22 Jesus equates hatred in the heart with murder.  Have you ever hated someone, that makes you a murderer.

How about adultery?  No?  In Matthew 5:27-28 Jesus says that if you have lusted, that is sexual desire, for someone then you have committed adultery already with them in your heart.  That would make you an adulterer.

Have you ever stolen anything, reagrdless of size or value?  Even if it was a long time ago that makes you a thief.

So how did you do?  If you answered yes to all of those that would make you a lying, thieving, blaspheming, murdering, adulterer at heart.  YIKES!  That doesn't sound very good now does it?

When you die you will stand before God in judgment.  He will judge you by His standards, as revealed in the Ten Commandments.  You just looked at only half of them.  If you have broken even one of them God will find you guilty and will send you to Hell.  That should really concern you.  Nothing else in life amounts to the importance of where you will spend eternity.  Do you really want to spend eternity in Hell?

Do you know what the Bible says about Hell?  It calls it a place where the fire is never quenched (Matthew 3:12) and where you will grind your teeth from the absolute pain (Matthew 8:12, Mark 9:44).  I do not say these things to simply scare you but to make you aware of the reality of Hell and the seriousness of what I am saying.

That's the bad news.  If you have violated God's law even once you will spend eternity in Hell.  But here's the Good News:

God the Father send His Son, Jesus Christ who is fully God and fully man, to earth.  He lived a perfect, sinless life and died on the cross.  What happened that day was a legal transaction.  He took upon Himself the full penalty for your sin.  Everything!  He took it all!  He bore the full weight of the punishment you incurred on that cross.  But simply knowing this is not enough.  You must repent, that is ask God for forgiveness and turn from your sins, and put your faith in Jesus Christ.

If you have done this, I would love to hear from you.  Just click here to send me an email.

If you have not done this, I will pose only one more question...why?  If you are waiting until the 11th hour to repent and trust in Christ you had better hope that you do not die at 10:30.  There is nothing, absolutely nothing more important than your eternity.  It is my prayer that God will use this message or what you have heard from whoever handed you the card that directed you here to bring you to repentance and faith in His Son.

Maybe you just object to this whole thing.  Maybe you've heard all this before.  Or maybe you think this is all just a waste.  I would love to hear from you too.  Just click here to send me your email.

Before you close this page, before your head hits the pillow tonight, think about your sins and think about what Jesus did for you on that cross.

There goes another minute...closer to eternity.  Where will you go?
